Collected here are works by artists who are forgotten, under appreciated, or little known, as well as news, reviews and ephemera from the corners of art history. Works of startling quality can be found beyond the big names in the visual arts, whether it is just one exceptional work, an area of an artists oeuvre, or an entire career worth re-examining.

The expression of Crist is less painful than others representations;the light and the others characters attract the attention.
J'aime cette peinture .EB
I bet someone tried to
attribute this to Bruegel.
Looks like a detail, not a
complete panel.
Powerful image though, nice
of you to post.

The Flemish School is one of my favorites. And this painting is especially touching. Strange to think the painter is forgotten.
What a fascinating and original topic for a blog!
So Beautiful! I love so much the flemish school painter. The light and shadows attract my attention.

A bientôt ? j'espère ...EB
Very cool.
